CGM (Comptoir Général des Métaux) welcomes CICLAD’s Si Vis Pacem fund as a shareholder as part of an OBO.
CGM is a multi-specialty distributor of metallurgical products and engineering plastics for the industrial sector, primarily the aerospace and defense industries.
➡️ A family-owned business founded in 1957 by Simon Bidnic, CGM is now led by his children, Emmanuelle Zerah and François Bidnic.
➡️ The group, which generated revenue of over €35M in 2025, employs approximately 60 people across three sites in France.
The development plan, led by Emmanuelle and François Bidnic, is structured around three key areas:
✅ consolidating CGM’s market position in France,
✅ its international expansion,
✅ and external growth to complement the group’s product and service offerings.
➡️ The defense sector accounts for a significant portion of the business, with direct relationships with several major French industrial contractors.
“CGM embodies exactly the type of company that Si Vis Pacem is dedicated to supporting: a French SME that plays a role in the French defense industrial chain, is well-managed, and has a sustainable future. Emmanuelle and François Bidnic have remarkably developed the family business founded by their father, which is now recognized by its customers and partners. Our role is to give them the means to continue their development—through organic and external growth—while preserving what makes up the company’s DNA,” says Didier Genoud
“We particularly appreciated the quality of our discussions with the CICLAD team, their understanding of our business model, and their ability to support our growth strategy. The partnership with CICLAD will enable us to continue developing CGM and consolidate our position as a specialized distributor serving the industry, particularly France’s strategic industries,” added Emmanuelle Zerah and François BIDNIC.
